Maybank Reduces BLR to 5.95%

In conjuction with the Bank Negara reduction of floor rate for fix deposit and cut borrowing cost, Maybank has reduces its Base Lending Rate (BLR) by 55 basis points from initial 6.5% to 5.96% effective this 3rd Feb 09. Same goes to Maybank Islamic Berhad.

They are aiming to enable bank’s borrowers to enjoy the immediate benefit from the overall lower cost of funding. In addition, it is part of their ongoing commitment towards the creation of a more supportive monetary environment.

Learned from TheStar Online, that both Maybank & CIMB will reduced their Base Lending Rate (BLR) & Base Finance Rate (BFR) from 6.75% to 6.5% effective this Dec 1st.

This is in conjuction with Bank Negara’s move of lowering Overnight Policy Rate (OPR) by 25 basis points to 3.25%.
